Invoice generator
Build an itemized invoice with your own prices and tax rate, then print it or save it as a PDF. You type every figure.

How the totals are worked out
Each line is quantity × unit price. Three lines of 19.99 give a subtotal of 59.97. A discount line is subtracted from the subtotal. Any tax you type is added after that.
Rounding
Each line is rounded to the cent. A line of 2.5 at 33.33 is 83.325, which rounds to 83.33. Each tax is rounded once, on the combined amount of the lines you ticked for it, not line by line.
Balance due and amounts already received
The balance due is the total less the amount you type as already received. A total of 59.97 with 20.00 already received shows a balance due of 39.97. If you type the full total, the balance due shows 0.00. The received amount cannot be more than the total.
Due dates
Type the number of days and the tool counts forward from the invoice date. An invoice dated 2026-10-01 with 30 days shows 2026-10-31, which is a Saturday. The tool shows the weekday and does not move the date. Type 0 for due on receipt. An invoice dated 2026-12-01 with 60 days shows 2027-01-30.
Printing or keeping a PDF
Print or save as PDF opens your browser's print window. Choose "Save as PDF" as the printer to keep a file. The page is headed Invoice.
Common mistakes
- Typing a tax rate you have not checked.
- Forgetting that a discount line has its own tax ticks.
- Mixing up the quote date and the invoice date.
Using your CSV
Export CSV downloads a file you can open in a spreadsheet. It holds the lines, the subtotal, each tax, the total, the amount already received, the balance due and the due date. Payment details, notes and registration details are not in the file. A leading apostrophe on a text cell stops the spreadsheet from treating that cell as a formula. Numbers in the file use a dot.
A note for Canadian businesses
You type your tax name, rate and registration details. This tool does not know or check any of them, and it does not tell you what to put on an invoice for your situation. Check with the official source or a qualified professional.
Questions
Does it send the invoice to my client?
No. Print it or save it as a PDF, then send it yourself. Printing or copying an invoice does not send it.
Does it take payments?
No. The tool prints the payment details you type and does nothing else with them. It does not connect to a bank or a payment service.
What tax rate should I type?
The tool cannot tell you. Type the name and rate you use and check them with the official source or a qualified professional.
Does it check my registration number?
No. It prints the label and number exactly as you type them.
Can it add wording about late payment?
No. The tool adds only the lines and taxes you type. For any wording about late payment, write it yourself in Notes and check it with the official source or a qualified professional.
Do I need an account?
Only to save. Without an account, what you type stays on this page and nothing is saved.
How do I get a PDF?
Use Print or save as PDF. In your browser's print window, choose "Save as PDF" as the printer.
Which currency does it use?
Canadian dollars (CAD). The tool does not convert currency.
